The Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge is located in a quiet rural area at the base of Mt Tibrogargan. National park walks begin just a few hundred metres from our front entrance. The property itself is set on 5 acres of orchard, reforested rainforest creek area with paths and grassy areas. Australia Zoo is just 10 minutes drive and it is just a half hour drive to coastal beaches and to the Blackall range villages of Maleny, Montville and Mapleton where there are award winning restaurants and art galleries.

Orchard Room

These light and airy ensuite rooms have high ceilings and polished floors with a Queen size bed. Great views of Mt Tibrogargan can be seen from the table and seating on the deck outside each room. A pedestal fan is available in summer and bar heater in winter as needed. Complimentary tea and coffee is available throughout your stay in the self-catering kitchen located in a restored railway carriage and breakfast is available on request. There is a two night minimum stay on weekends. There is a separate well equipped guests self catering kitchen located a few metres away with refrigerator and freezer, gas cook top and outside BBQ.

Beerwah Room

This light and airy ensuite room has a high ceiling and polished floors with one Queen size bed and one single bed. Great views of Mt Tibrogargan can be seen from the table and seating on the deck outside the room. A pedestal fan is available in summer and bar heater in winter as needed. Complimentary tea and coffee is available throughout your stay in the self-catering kitchen located in a restored railway carriage and breakfast is available on request. There is a two night minimum stay on weekends. The per night price is for a couple. Twin share is an additional $20 per night. There is a separate well equipped guests self catering kitchen located a few metres away with refrigerator and freezer, gas cook top and outside BBQ.

Room Information:

Cool and comfortable rooms with tiled floors and ensuite, Queen size bed and two single bunk beds (one above the other). Outside patio with table and seating with views of the garden and forest area. Self catering kitchen in separate railway carriage, complimentary tea and coffee. Breakfast available on request. It is possible to add a trundle or fold out bed or portacot in some rooms. Please note your requirements in the booking form. The price includes up to 4 people. There is a charge of $20 per person per night for use of the trundle bed or portacot. There is a separate well equipped guests self catering kitchen located a few metres away with refrigerator and freezer, gas cook top and outside BBQ.

Suitable for a family, friends or two couples travelling together. Contains two separate rooms that have separate entrances to the bathroom. * Queen Room contains a queen size bed, polished floors, air-conditioning and a sofa. * Second Room contains two single beds (one in the loft above) and its own separate entrance. A fold out bed is available for a small child at $20 per night extra cost. This suite has a large covered area with deck furniture to sit, relax and enjoy the views. There is a separate well equipped guests self catering kitchen located a few metres away with refrigerator and freezer, gas cook top and outside BBQ.

The Bungalow

A delightfully cool luxurious, self contained bungalow for couples. Set amongst palm trees with a tropical ambience and outside sitting area, the 2 room bungalow has timber shutters with lots of individual touches such as an ancient Balinese timber door leading into the bedroom. A great place to enjoy that special weekend, celebration or surprise gift for anyone desiring peace, quiet and privacy. The second room of the Bungalow has its own fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area. Self cater here or enjoy the many award winning restaurants within half an hour’s drive. Two night minimum on weekends.

The Church

Room Type:

Room Information:

This beautifully restored 120 year old timber church is a special space for that important celebration or intimate weekend for two. There is a queen bedroom in the loft of the church, a huge open plan lounge and dining area, a mini kitchen and a spacious bathroom. The church is also a great venue for boutique corporate events, retreats, workshops, team building events and similar occasions. Contains small refrigerator, tea/coffe making, toaster and sink for some self catering. There is a separate well equipped guests self catering kitchen located a few metres away with refrigerator and freezer, gas cook top and outside BBQ.

The price is for up to 2 people or the church can be hired with the rest of the rooms for an event and used as a workshop space. Please indicate any requirements on the booking form, and the Ecolodge staff will contact you to discuss pricing. A self serve breakfast is available on request.

Children & Extra Guest Policy:

Prices at the Ecolodge are generally for the room per night but where extra beds are required for a child or adult or portacot for an infant there is an additional charge of $20 per night. If a child occupies a bed then the charge is the same as for an adult.

Reception Information:

The reception is usually open from 8.00 am until 6 pm and check in is from 2.00pm until 6.00 pm. Late check in is fine if necessary and keys can be arranged. Guests should phone 24 hours prior to check in to make necessary arrangements. If guests are traveling by train and require pick up from the railway station it is important to make the request a few days in advance so we can make sure we are available.

Business Facilities:

Our beautiful church can be used for small corporate workshops, conferences and meetings, yoga and meditation retreats. It is largely open plan and contains a mini kitchen, dining area and bathroom. Seating can be arranged in various styles for approx 25 people.Various breakout spaces are also available onsite Wireless broadband is available for use with your own laptops. Mobile reception is available from the carpark and in some other areas onsite. Catering can be provided or groups are welcome to self cater using our well equipped railway carriage kitchen dining area.

Car Parking:

An off road bitumen sealed car-park is provided on-site.

Things to do:

Sit quietly in the forest by the creek and listen to the birds and the breeze sighing through the trees. The Ecolodge is a calm and peaceful place to relax. For a small donation you are invited to plant a tree in our forest to help rehabilitate the land, which was once a pineapple plantation. Take yourself and the children on the self-guided walk through the bush food garden and orchard. Read about our nature watch activities and our plans to save the beautiful Richmond Birdwing butterfly. Go frog spotting with the children.

Local Attractions:

Within half and hour's drive or a lot closer are Australia Zoo, National park walks, fresh water lakes for swimming, picnics and BBQ's, art galleries, award winning restaurants, beaches, mountain and rainforest walks with waterfalls, mountain climbing and abseiling, kayaking, hot air ballooning. Outings to Fraser island and whale watching can be arranged.

Getting There:

From Brisbane: Travel north along the Bruce Highway and take Steve Irwin Way exit on the left. After 9 kilometres turn left into Barrs Road/Mt. Tibrogargan .The Ecolodge is 2 klms along on the right. From the Sunshine Coast and northern towns travel south along the Bruce Highway, take the Landsborough/Steve Irwin Way exit traveling past Australia Zoo and Beerwah. Look for Matilda service station on the left and turn right 400 metres past Matilda into Barrs Road/Mt tibrogargan. The Ecolodge is 2 kilometres along Barrs road on the right. Park inside off the road. The Ecolodge is approximately 90 minutes drive from Brisbane national and international airports and is just a few kilometres from Glasshouse Village which is on the main railway line north from Brisbane. By Train From the Brisbane airport take the airtrain to Eagle Junction or Bowen Hills and change to the Gympie North Line and stop at Glasshouse Mountains Village. Phone us ahead of time to arrange for us to collect you from the railway station.
